CCPD: Woman taken into custody after barricading herself in home

By Staff | Apr 22, 2020

A Cape Coral woman is in custody after police responding to a “shots fired” call Wednesday morning say she barricaded herself in her residence and would not speak with officers.

The call came in around 11:40 a.m. and officers dispatched to the 1300 block of Southeast 45th Street.

“When officers arrived on scene they spoke with the victim who told them that they heard what was believed to be a gunshot and saw their rear slider door shatter,” the Cape Coral Police Department stated in a release issued Wednesday afternoon.

Information then led officers to the residence of Patricia McConville, officials said.

“As the investigation unfolded, officers attempted to contact McConville about the incident. McConville barricaded herself in her residence and would not speak with our officers,” the release states.

“A perimeter was set up around her residence and the SWAT team responded to assist. McConville was taken into custody without incident, and charges are pending.”
