Lee Health update includes 3 employee positives for COVID-19
Three Lee Health employees have tested positive for COVID-19 after being exposed to the new coronavirus at work.
As of Saturday morning, the countywide system had 136 employees quarantined at home, according to a morning update provided by Lee Health.
“We currently have 22 COVID-19 patients isolated in our hospitals. Nine patients have been discharged. Six patients have unfortunately passed away. Our hearts are with their families as they mourn their lost loved one,” the release states.
Lee Health has submitted a total of 2,232 specimens for testing, and had had a total of 78 presumptive positives since March 6.
On Friday, its mobile collection sites collected 207 specimens, and Lee TeleHealth had 159 virtual visits.
According to Saturday morning’s Florida Department of Health data report, there were 3,763 positive cases of CODID-19 in Florida. Of those, there were 526 hospitalizations and 54 reported deaths due to the virus.
The state has collected 39,524 tests with 35,750 coming back negative. There were 1,303 tests still awaiting results.
Lee County has 101 positive cases, total – 51 in Fort Myers, 13 in Cape Coral, six in Lehigh Acres, four in North Fort Myers, two in Sanibel and two undesignated.
