By Staff | Mar 27, 2020

Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno has put Lee County boaters on notice: The agency will be actively enforcing a new executive order that requires that all boats must be 50-feet apart while on the waterways.

Gov. Ron DeSantis issued the edict Friday.

“The Lee County Sheriff’s Office Marine Unit will be out in full force this weekend to enforce this new order,” the agency said in a notice posted to its website distributed to area media. “Anyone violating or disobeying this Executive Order issued by the governor under a state of emergency could be issued a fine or subject to arrest.”
