Lee Health provides COVID-19 testing update: 10 positives
Lee Health has provided its Saturday morning numbers update:
The system currently has six COVID-19 patients isolated in its hospitals.
The system has submitted a total of 625 specimens for testing, and has had a total of 10 presumptive positives since March 6. This is Lee Health’s count and doesn’t include the total number of positive cases in the community. The Florida Department of Health is reporting out the total count on its dashboard.
The system has 66 employees quarantined at home, none have tested positive for COVID-19. To date, employee quarantines have not disrupted our hospital operations.
Lee TeleHealth had 166 virtual visits yesterday.
The mobile collection site in Cape Coral will open on Monday.
The system is still in desperate need of blood due to the cancelations of nearly 30 blood drives. This has cost Lee Health about 900 units of blood that local patients need. As a reminder, Florida’s Southern Gulf Chapter of the American Red Cross is allowing us to host a drive at their office this weekend. The mobile blood bus will be in the parking lot, details are below:
