Sanibel reports City Hall offices are ‘no contact,’ more

Effective immediately, the city of Sanibel City Hall offices are operating consistent with federal and state “social distancing” guidelines. The City Hall lobbies are closed to public walk-ins.

The city council, city manager and city clerk’s offices can be reached at 239-472-3700.


The city building housing Community Housing and Resources and the Center-4-Life/Senior Center, at 2401 Library Way, is closed. Center-4-Life/Senior Center programs are canceled until further notice.

All previously scheduled pre-submittal meetings will be canceled at this time. Planning pre-submittal reviews and communications will be done via phone or email.

Applications can be dropped off on the table inside the Planning & Building front door. Applications will be reviewed in a timely manner.

Credit card payments for permits can be made by phone to the Finance Department at 239-472-9615.


During this time, the Finance Department is temporarily processing payments via credit cards (Mastercard and Visa) by phone at 239-472-9615.

Payments may be made by utilizing the Drop Off Box, located in front of City Hall or by mailing a check to the Finance Department at 800 Dunlop Road, Sanibel, FL 33957.

Utility Payments can be made online at www.mysanibel.com by selecting the Sanibel Online Bill Pay on the blue ribbon.

The Sanibel Police Department continues to immediately respond to emergency calls for service. However, given the current circumstances, it will handle many non-emergency calls over the telephone. Some examples that can be handled over the phone include:

– Identity theft, fraudulent use of a credit card

– Past occurred theft

– Criminal mischief

– Lost property

– Property damage

– Past occurred neighborhood dispute
