Schools to remain closed until April 15

By Staff | Mar 17, 2020

Lee County schools will remain closed until April 15.

Dr. Greg Adkins, superintendent of the School District of Lee County, notified parents via a letter sent to parents Tuesday night:

Dear SDLC families,

Based on recommendations from the Florida Department of Education and the State of Florida, the School District of Lee County School District will extend its school closures until April 15, 2020.

For the 2019-2020 school year, all state assessments, including FSA, are cancelled. However, virtual learning will continue for students and online instruction will begin on Monday, March 30, 2020. Further information on how online instruction will be conducted is forthcoming.

District staff continue to work with the Florida Department of Education to ensure students will not be negatively impacted by the changes to their learning process.

Details on Chromebook pick-ups for students who don’t currently have them, and access to the Internet, along with additional information relating to COVID-19, can be found on our website: www.leeschools.net/covid-19.

Thank you for your continued patience and support as we navigate through this unprecedented situation.

Dr. Greg Adkins
