Free breakfast/lunch meals available to children while school is out

With Florida schools closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Commissioner Nikki Fried, the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, and the Division of Food, Nutrition, and Wellness has activated the Summer BreakSpot free meals program.

The Lee County these “grab-and-go” combination breakfast and lunch bags will be available from 9-11 a.m. Monday through Friday, March 23-27, at a number of locations. The meals are available to all youths 18 and younger; the child must be present to pick up a meal.

Locations are:

* West Zone

Cape Coral Elementary, Patriot Elementary, Hector A Cafferata, Tropic Isles Elementary, North Ft Myers Academy for the Arts

* South Zone

Allen Park Elementary, James Stephens International Academy, Ray V Pottorf Elementary, San Carlos Park Elementary, Pinewoods Elementary, Bonita Springs Elementary, Heights Elementary Villas Elementary, Colonial Elementary, Ft Myers Middle Academy

* East Zone

The Alva School, Orange River Elementary, Manatee Elementary, Mirror Lakes Elementary, Lehigh Acres Elementary, Tortuga Preserve Elementary, Riverhall Elementary, Gateway Elementary

* Community Sites
