By Staff | Mar 13, 2020

F.I.S.H. of Sanibel-Captiva will offer one-on-one chats with Mary Freyre, nurse educator at the Alvin A. Dubin Alzheimer’s Resource Center, on March 30-31 in the Library Room at the Sanibel Congregational United Church of Christ, at 2050 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel.

The opportunity is available to island residents, employees and visitors who are caring for someone with Alzheimer’s or a dementia-related disease; appointments available from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

“This is an opportunity for persons who are caring for or who know someone with Alzheimer’s or a dementia-related disease to have a private, confidential conversation about their specific situation,” F.I.S.H. officials said. “Conversations may be about care, behaviors, resources, living arrangements or daily challenges facing the caregiver and loved-one.”

The center is a local United Way organization that provides assistance and support to persons with Alzheimer’s and related dementia and their caregivers by offering assistance through information and referral, counseling, health education, and crisis intervention.
