TBE welcomes new staff members
Tarpon Bay Explorers, the official concession to the J.N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge, recently welcomed two new staff members to its working family. In an effort to provide excellent customer service, it filled two additional positions, which include a fishing captain and a mechanic.
– A native Floridian from West Palm Beach, Paul Petersen moved to the west coast when he was relocated for work as a biotech for Algenol. In his spare time, he remains on the water either fishing, diving or paddling. Petersen is enjoying his time at TBE and has had success finding the fish. He is excited that he gets to work outdoors with people who share a passion for nature, conservation and stewardship.
– A native Floridian, Simon Martinez was born in Dade City and grew up in Immokalee. However, he has lived all over the country, from Texas to Ohio. Martinez settled in Fort Myers with his family in 2002. When not at work, he enjoys an eclectic range of hobbies ranging from coin collecting, to working on muscle cars and fixing broken electronics. Martinez also enjoys bringing his daughters out to the island for bike rides, kayaking and boat trips.
Open seven days a week, Tarpon Bay Explorers is at 900 Tarpon Bay Road, Sanibel.
