Sanibel FlyFishers to hold meeting
The Sanibel FlyFishers will hold its monthly meeting on March 5 at 6 p.m. at the Sanibel Public Library, at 770 Dunlop Road, Sanibel, with the doors opening at 5:30 p.m.
The featured speaker will be Capt. Ed Tamson, a certified fly casting instructor with Fly Fishers International and a licensed U.S. Coast Guard captain. He earned his doctorate from the University of California and is a supporter and advocate for protecting local natural resources, including the Gulf Coast, Everglades restoration, Florida fishery, hunting habitat, and catch-and-release fly fishing.
Pizza and soft drinks will be available for a donation.
Visitors are welcome.
Additional activities the Sanibel FlyFishers has planned include:
– March 19: Monthly club luncheon at 1 p.m. at The Lighthouse Restaurant in Fort Myers
– March 24: “Fly Tying” activity at 6 p.m. at the Sanibel Sea School, 455 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel
