The Sanibel Music Festival and Bank of the Islands are partnering to bring arts to the islands.

The festival is a volunteer organization focused on presenting chamber music, piano recital and vocal ensemble of the highest caliber every year in March. The concerts are held on select Tuesdays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. at the Sanibel Congregational United Church of Christ at 2050 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel.

“The highlight performance March 28 is the multiple award-winning Emerson String Quartet, honored with nine Grammys,” festival President Jana Stone said. “Chamber music enthusiasts will also not want to miss the Boston Chamber Music Society (on) March 10 featuring internationally popular harpist Ann Hobson Pilot and the Gould Trio, featuring award-winning Robert Plane on clarinet March 21.”

The chamber music concerts are complimented in the lineup with piano recital and vocal ensemble. The 10th national Chopin Piano Competition Winner will be named on March 1 and will perform on Sanibel on March 14. On March 24, Andrew Lloyd Webber will be celebrated by the professional singers of the Opera Theater of Connecticut, with commentary from opera and musical theatre cognoscente Alan Mann. The music of “Jesus Christ Superstar,” “Cats,” “Evita” and “Phantom of the Opera,” among others, will be on the program.

“I was delighted to schedule two amazing chamber groups that showcase young professionals,” festival Vice President Nina Orrell said. “The Rolston String Quartet, named among CBC Radio’s 30 Hot Canadian Classical Musicians Under 30, on March 7 and the New York-based chamber music collective Manhattan Chamber Players on March 3.”

“Get your tickets early,” she added, “because it looks like they might sell out.”

General admission tickets are $50.

Tickets are at Bank Of The Islands, at 1699 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel; check and cash only.

“Bank Of The Islands is a perfect ticket sales partner,” Sheryl Steele, festival board member and box office manager, said. “Both organizations strive to delight customers with their personal touch.”

“Sanibel Music Festival’s seven concerts make a beautifully curated classical series,” Susan Schulte, Bank Of The Islands concierge, added. “We have the concert schedule posted and welcome all arts patrons to stop by the bank for in-person ticket purchases.”
