Dayton Barkley, of Minneapolis, Minnesota, found a Scotch bonnet on the morning of Feb. 3 on Cayo Costa State Park. He reported that it is the first one he has found. Barkley added that he has been hunting for rare shells, like the bonnet and junonia, for over 30 years. He found the bonnet while on a shelling trip with Capt. Brian Holloway, who Barkley and his wife have gone out with many times.
