SCC to host Night to Shine 2020
Sanibel Community Church will serve as one of over 650 churches around the world registered to simultaneously host Night to Shine on Feb. 7, sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation.
The event is a prom night experience for ages 14 and older with special needs. The church reported that 124 guests have registered, plus over 100 family members-caregivers and an estimated 200 volunteers.
Worldwide, approximately 100,000 guests will participate with the support of 200,000 volunteers.
Activities will begin at about 4:30 p.m. with arrival at the Sanibel church, registration, a visit to the men and women’s grooming stations, presentation of corsages and boutonnieres, a limousine ride, walk up the red carpet, a personal photo, karaoke, music, dancing, a meal and other activities.
Each guest will be escorted by their personal volunteer “buddy.” The highlight of the evening will be a special message from Tebow, in which he declares each guest as a king or queen, and crowns are placed upon each guest’s head by their buddy. Individual gift bags will be given to guests as they exit.
During the event, parents-caregivers will be hosted in Fellowship Hall, where they will receive a meal, have time for fellowship and engage in activities as the event is streamed from the main sanctuary.
