BIG ARTS ‘Talking Points’ to open season with historian

PHOTO PROVIDED Rabbi James Rudin
Popular historian speaker Rabbi James Rudin will open the nearly sold-out BIG ARTS “Talking Points” series on Feb. 4 at 4 p.m. at the Strauss Theatre with “The Polarization of the American Electorate – 1968-2020.”
America has survived extreme electoral divisions in the recent past, like during the Vietnam War and Civil Rights movement. Despite the tumult, it has always emerged stronger as a nation. Can it do it again? Rudin, a nationally noted historian and Pulitzer Prize nominee, will address polarization and divisiveness in the current political environment and lead the discussion through a series of questions.
Refreshments available after the program.
“Talking Points” is sponsored by The Sanibel & Captiva Trust Company.
