By Staff | Jan 28, 2020

An upcoming design event will highlight some of the 2020 home trends for an island lifestyle.

Robb & Stucky will host the “Coastal Beach Living” seminar on Feb. 6 from 11 a.m. to noon at The Community House. It will feature its in-house designers Annette Ullrich and Christina Entwistle, along with an appearance by guest speaker Lucas Congdon, TV host of “Insane Pools: Off The Deep End.”

Director of Marketing Sandra Spiro explained that the “modern beach house” look is the focus.

“We want to introduce that – our look – to the Sanibel clients,” she said.

During the seminar, Ullrich and Entwistle will cover everything coastal living. They will discuss with attendees a wide variety of trending home subjects, from fabulous interiors to wild outdoor design.

“They’re very familiar with the islands,” Spiro said. “These ladies love the new coastal look.”

“It’s going to be everything from fine area rugs and furnishings, to accessories, throw pillows – that’s what they’ll talk about,” she continued, adding that there is also interior and exterior design fabrics.

Owner of Lucas Lagoons, Congdon will share with attendees how he helps clients find their coastal paradise. An award-winning pool designer, his show airs on the DIY Network and Animal Planet.

“The tie-in is obviously outdoor living,” Spiro said.

“He is very popular, and we thought he would be an interesting draw to partner with,” she added.

Also at the seminar, attendees will receive a copy of Robb & Stucky’s new 2020 look book.

“It explains our different points of lifestyle, our points of view – Modern Beach House, The District, New Traditions, Contemporary,” Spiro said. “It displays how we put those together in the store.”

There will also be a raffle giveaway for a Robb & Stucky chair, known as the Lafayette.

“It’s a coastal-inspired rattan-framed chair with a loose-backed cushion,” she said.

Light refreshments will be served.

The seminar is complimentary, but reservations are requested by Feb. 4.

Seating is limited.

The public is encouraged to reserve a space while they last.

“It’ll be fun and informative,” Spiro said. “New thoughts on design for coastal living.”
