Club to host morning paddling excursion
The Ocean Tribe Paddling Club hosts excursions for paddling enthusiasts to enjoy a group paddle, share tips and ideas, and meet new friends to paddle with.
The next one will be held on Jan. 11 from 10 to 11:30 a.m.
It will be a morning paddling excursion to Picnic Island, a sandy island in San Carlos Bay. Participants will start from Causeway Island A and paddle to the destination, allowing time to explore before making the trek back to the launch point. The waters around Picnic Island are home to many critters, such as bonnethead sharks, southern stingrays and manatees.
Those interested in taking part can bring their own paddling craft or reserve one of the limited number of loaner vessels in advance. To reserve a vessel, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
The first event is free, then it is requested that a club membership be purchased.
Meet at 9:45 a.m. on Causeway Island A (the island closest to the toll booth).
Any weather related updates or schedule changes will be posted on the Ocean Tribe Outfitters Facebook page at least one hour prior to the event. The inclement weather location will be Bowman’s Beach.
