The Community House, at 2173 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel, will present the following:

Painting with Friends

Painting with Friends will take place on Jan. 8 from 1 to 4 p.m. Cost is $10 per person. Artists of all levels of expertise are welcome, as long as they bring their own supplies and are able to paint independently. This is a non instructional gathering, though gentle critiques may be given if requested. Painting and drawing only; no crafts. For information, call Jane Hudson at 239-466-0244 or 239-464-6936.

Painting With Sissi

Painting With Sissi, with artist Sissi Janku, will take place on Jan. 8 from 7 to 9 p.m. The subject is “Parrots.” Cost is $55 for members and $65 for non-members.

All-Level Yoga

All-Level Yoga will be held on Jan. 9 from 10 to 11 a.m. with instructor Dr. Susan Pataky, of Sanibel Yoga. Open to beginners and those with and level of experience. Cost is $18 for members and $20 for non-members; class packages available. For information, call 239-738-3856.

Gentle Yoga

Gentle Yoga will be held on Jan. 9 from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. with instructor Dr. Susan Pataky, of Sanibel Yoga. Designed for those who want or need a slower approach to yoga. Cost is $18 for members and $20 for non-members; class packages available. For information, call 239-738-3856.

Audubon Lecture

The Sanibel-Captiva Audubon Society will host a lecture, “Brash, Boisterous & Blue – Meet the Florida Scrub Jay,” on Jan. 9 at 7 p.m. Suggested $10 donation per attendee, with proceeds to promote conservation on Sanibel and in Florida. Line Dancing

Line dancing with Marie Di Rosa will be held on Jan 10 from 1 to 2 p.m. Cost is $10.

Community Shredding

A Community Shredding event will be held on Jan. 11 from 9 a.m. to noon in the north lot. Shred documents, credit card receipts, checks, CD/DVD and more. Remove large paperclips and binder clips; staples and small paper clips can stay. Those bringing more than four boxes or bags must call ahead. Cost is $5 per box or bag.

Monday Current Events

Normally held at BIG ARTS, Monday Current Events will take place on Jan. 13 at 10 a.m. Enjoy lively discussion of the biggest headlines. For information, contact Malcolm Martini at 239-395-1362 or mlmartini@icloud.com.

Shell Crafters

Shell Crafting Class will be held on Jan. 13 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Make flower figures or animals. Limited class size; first come first served. Children must be accompanied by an adult due to the complexity/dexterity required.

Watercolor on Yupo

Watercolor on Yupo will be held on Jan. 13 from 1 to 4 p.m. with Anita Helen Cohen. Learn and practice techniques for getting textural effects in paintings by adding, mixing and blotting away watercolors. Watercolor painting experience is helpful but not necessary. Some supplies provided. Cost is $45 for members or $55 for non-members.

Watercolors, Shells

Letting Loose With Watercolors & Shells will be held on Jan. 14 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. with Anita Force Marshall. For beginners and intermediates, the class puts a different twist on shells and recreating their image with watercolors. Open to ages 12 and older. Cost is $30 for members and $35 for non-members.
