The Sanibel Public Library offers a variety of programs and activities for adults and youth.

Stop by on Dec. 27 from 10 a.m. to noon to test drive a virtual reality viewer. Ages 13 and older can enjoy “Deep Sea Adventure: Whale Encounter and Coral Reef,” a VR underwater world.

The library’s Book Discussion Group will discuss “Chances Are” by Richard Russo on Jan. 22 at 10 a.m. All are welcome. Copies of the discussion books are offered in a variety of formats, including audiobook, eBook and large print. February’s book will be “The Dutch House,” by Ann Patchett.

Also, the following weekly programs are available for youth:

– Family Storytime: Wednesdays at 11 a.m. and Thursdays at 11 a.m. with Youth Service Librarian Deanna Evans. For preschoolers and their caregivers, the program helps develop pre-reading skills through songs and stories.

The children’s area has a new STEM table featuring a digital microscope. Children can use the hand-held microscope to see magnified images on a screen mounted above the table.

There is no registration required nor additional cost to participate.
