The Community House, at 2173 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel, will present the following:

Painting with Friends

Painting with Friends will take place on Dec. 18 from 1 to 4 p.m. Cost is $10 per person. Artists of all levels of expertise are welcome, as long as they bring their own supplies and are able to paint independently. This is a non instructional gathering, though gentle critiques may be given if requested. Painting and drawing only; no crafts. For information, call Jane Hudson at 239-466-0244 or 239-464-6936.

Homeschool Cooking

A Homeschool Cooking class will be held on Dec. 19 from 9 to 11 a.m. The theme will be pastries and desserts. Cost is $35. Scholarships are available thanks to the Rotary Club of Sanibel-Captiva and Sanibel-Captiva Kiwanis Club.

All-Level Yoga

All-Level Yoga will be held on Dec. 19 from 10 to 11 a.m. with instructor Dr. Susan Pataky, of Sanibel Yoga. Open to beginners and those with and level of experience. Cost is $18 for members and $20 for non-members; class packages available. For information, call 239-738-3856.

Gentle Yoga

Gentle Yoga will be held on Dec. 19 from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. with instructor Dr. Susan Pataky, of Sanibel Yoga. Designed for those who want or need a slower approach to yoga. Cost is $18 for members and $20 for non-members; class packages available. For information, call 239-738-3856.

Hands On Workshop

Resident Chef Jarred Harris will host a Hands On Workshop on Dec. 21 from 9 a.m. to noon. The theme is “Holiday Desserts.” Lean how to make chocolate truffles, croquembouche, snowball cookies, kringla cake and chocolate brittle. Cost is $45 for members and $55 for non-members.

Monday Current Events

Annual Mini Golf course

The 20th Annual Mini Golf course will take place on Dec. 26 from 4 to 7 p.m. with a “ParTee” kick off. Open to all ages, play nine holes for $3. Daily prizes provided by Sunny Island Adventures, with prizes for every player provided by Zoomers.

The Community House is taking soup and stew orders for pick up in December, with the proceeds to benefit children’s scholarships for the Culinary Education Center of Sanibel.
