Family Storytime

Pickleball Social

The Sundial Beach Resort & Spa will host a learn-to-play pickleball social for prospective players and members from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Sea Breeze Caf, at 1451 Middle Gulf Drive, Sanibel. Spoken Word Open Mic

Spoken Word Open Mic will take place at 7 p.m. at the BIG ARTS Strauss Theater, at 2200 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel. Island and Southwest Florida poets and writers will perform their latest works, and members of the audience are invited to join them on stage by reading original works or a favorite poem or prose passage. Making the Land Work

A walking tour of the Bailey Homestead Preserve from 10 to 11 a.m. that blends the Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation’s work on the historic property, history of the land and stories about the Bailey family, which farmed it for three generations. Program includes a look at the demonstration gardens at the Native Landscapes & Garden Center, windmill, pavilion, Devitt Pond overlook and entrance to the Bailey family home. Suggested donation of $5; walking shoes recommended. Meet at the Conservation Gateway Kiosk at the head of Shipley Trail, at 1300 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel. Nature Connection Through Movement

The Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation will host Nature Connection Through Movement from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Bailey Homestead Preserve, at 1300 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel. Open to individuals of all ages and physical conditions, participants will be led through a movement meditation. Loose-fitting comfortable clothing and comfortable shoes suggested; bring water and a yoga mat, if you have one. Limited to 15 participants. Suggested donation of $10. There will be treats; skating; live music; arts and crafts; entertainment, including face painting, stilt walking, juggling and balloon artists; holiday movies; photos with Santa; and more.
