Rotary Club meets weekly for fellowship, program

By Staff | Nov 27, 2019

With over 75 active members, the Sanibel Captiva Rotary Club meets on Fridays at 7 a.m. at The Dunes Golf and Tennis Club on Sanibel for breakfast, fellowship and an interesting program.

The club is joined in the winter season by many snowbird members, as well as other visiting Rotarians from around the globe. It gives the members the opportunity to exchanging ideas regarding what Rotary does in all parts of the nation and world.

The Rotarians have opportunities to partner with fellow non-profits and service clubs on the islands. The club provides volunteer hours on projects in the community and provides funding for projects within the community in areas that align with the club’s Avenues of Service. It also partners with other Rotary District 960 clubs on local, regional and global projects, both in leadership and partner roles.

The club’s major fundraiser each year is its Arts and Crafts Festival held in mid-February. Through the festival, it raises the majority of the island club’s financial support for its service projects.
