During the weekend of Oct. 25, 15 middle-school students and two leaders from Sanibel Community Church’s H2O Youth Ministries adventured to Miami for a retreat. Envision Miami hosted Equip 2019, a training weekend designed to empower students to follow Jesus. The weekend was filled with Bible lessons, evangelism training, worship and praise, service projects, team building, games and a neighborhood block party. H2O Student Ministries is for sixth- through 12th-graders and meets on Wednesdays from 5 to 7 p.m. for middle-schoolers and from 6 to 8 p.m. for high-schoolers, as well as on Sundays from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. at the church, at 1740 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel. Students on the island and surrounding communities are welcome.
