Outdoor Expo and Boat Show set for Sun Splash
The fourth annual Cape Coral Outdoor Expo and Boat Show, set for next weekend, will feature three full days full of music, food, drinks and, of course, boats, accessories and seminars.
“It’s kind of a celebration of the Southwest Florida lifestyle,” event director Donald Ware said. “You need to be outdoors and on the water.”
This year the show will again be held at Sun Splash Family Waterpark from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6, and Saturday, Dec. 7; and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8. Tickets are $5.
The first 200 people through the doors each day will receive a free Expo T-shirt.
“They are multi-colored really nice T-shirts for showing up and coming in,” he said.
Ware said they started the expo four years ago with just an idea.
“It blossomed into something that people look forward to in the Cape Coral area. We try to have it the first weekend in December,” Ware said. “This is the second year at Sun Splash Family Waterpark.”
This year, they are going to do some water activities, since Lake Kennedy is right there on the property, Ware said. There will be boat demos, as well as other fun activities.
“It’s a really nice lake. It’s not salt water, but it is great water,” he said.
The annual show features some of the biggest boat dealers, including Marine Max, The Boat Place and Walker Marine.
“We also have the smaller manufacturers and dealers. There is a wide variety of boats,” Ware said.
In addition, a seminar tent will feature educational talks by experts in fishing, boating and clean water initiatives.
Kentucky-based Blue Smoke BBQ and other food vendors will be on site during the expo. A happy hour, with drink and food specials, will be held each day starting at 3:30 p.m. with a full bar featuring the loaded Bloody Mary and Island Margarita.
Music will be performed by John Friday, Jim Vallie and Scott Utley.
“It’s a very nice outing for the day,” Ware said of the family-oriented event. “All the dealers are making good deals to move inventory for the new year.”
All the dealers and vendors do really well during the show, he said, adding that they keep coming back year after year.
“They are there to make money and we are there to entertain you,” Ware said. “Come out and see the excitement.”
Sun Splash Family Waterpark is at 400 Santa Barbara Blvd.,
