TBE, George & Wendy’s co-owner to speak at ABWA meeting
The Sanibel Captiva Charter Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association will host its monthly luncheon on Nov. 19 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Sundial Beach Resort & Spa.
The guest speaker is Wendy Schnapp, co-owner and general manager of Tarpon Bay Explorers and co-owner of George & Wendy’s Seafood Grille with her husband, George. She will present “Surround Yourself with Smart, Positive, Capable People,” which will address the importance of the company one keeps when striving to achieve both professional and personal goals.
“Paddle sports and environmental education are my passions,” Schnapp said. “And I feel very fortunate to be able to do both here on Sanibel Island.”
A life-long lover of environmental education with aspirations to run a business, she worked hard to accomplish her goals. Schnapp earned degrees in biology and biochemistry from the University of Illinois and a Master of Business Administration from Florida Gulf Coast University. She also is a National Association for Interpretation certified interpretive guide. Schnapp holds certifications from the American Canoe Association as a coastal kayak instructor and a standup paddleboard Instructor.
“Wendy’s wise message about smart, positive, capable people is meaningful at every stage of a business career and on a personal level,” ABWA chapter President Gloria Garrett said. “I hope everyone can take the time to attend.”
The chapter meets on the fourth Tuesday of the month at the Sundial Beach Resort & Spa, at 1451 Middle Gulf Drive, Sanibel. Networking starts at 11:30 a.m., with lunch and a speaker from noon to 1 p.m. The cost for lunch is $25 per person. The meetings are open to the public.
