The Island Cinema and Sanibel Captiva Motor Club will host a cruise-in car show and movie screening on Nov. 14 at 5 p.m. in front of the cinema in honor of the feature release movie, “Ford v Ferrari.”

Attendees will learn about the historic competition of Ford and Ferrari.

In the movie, American automotive designer Carroll Shelby and fearless British race car driver Ken Miles battle corporate interference, the laws of physics and their own personal demons to build a revolutionary vehicle for the Ford Motor Company. Together, they plan to compete against the race cars of Enzo Ferrari at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in France in 1966. Starring Matt Damon and Christian Bale, the drama is sure to thrill motor enthusiasts.

“As a gear-head and vintage Ford owner, I am beyond excited to partner with SanCap Motor Club to host our island car enthusiasts for this special feature,” Richard Johnson said.

The cruise-in will start at 5 p.m., with the film to follow at 6:30 p.m.

The Sanibel Catering Company by Bailey’s will provide a cash bar during the car show and refreshments will be available inside of the Island Cinema.

Registered attendees will receive complimentary admission into the movie; limited number available.
