Annual ‘Swing for Hope’ to benefit CHR
Lily & Co. Jewelers will showcase Tennis Hall of Fame inductee Nick Bollettieri at the annual “Swing for Hope” fundraiser on Nov. 16 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Beachview Tennis Club on Sanibel.
The event will benefit Community Housing and Resources.
“CHR applauds Dan Schuyler of Lily & Co. Jewelry for his ongoing commitment to the community,” CHR Executive Director Melissa Rice said. “Dan is a master at managing great partnerships – bringing philanthropy and island businesses and sports stars together for a wonderful event.”
Schuyler discussed the action-packed agenda for the event.
“For tennis fans, Nick Bollettieri’s Tennis Clinic with IMG Academy Pro’s will be a highlight,” he said. “As a coach, Nick has helped shape the careers of Andre Agassi, Serena Williams, Maria Sharapova, Jim Courier, Boris Becker, Monica Seles, Anna Kournikova, Tommy Haas and other tennis champions.”
Pickleball fans can look forward to sessions with national award-winning pros Kyle Yates and Simone Jardim. With multiple USAPA National Championships and U.S. Open Championships to his credit, Yates will demo Paddletek’s pickleball paddles during the event.
Jardim also built her career in tennis, as a two-time All-American tennis player in doubles and ranked number one nationally by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. Switching to pickleball four years ago, she has multiple national Open Championships, Tournament of Champions Open Championships and U.S. Open Championships, winning the U.S. Open Triple Crown twice. Jardim’s Peak Performance Pickleball Academy pros will lead the pickleball clinic at the event.
“Participants will enjoy a courtside continental breakfast, champagne lunch and ice cream social, plus tennis and pickle ball expos, games, raffle prizes and more,” Schuyler said. “I’m particularly looking forward to the ‘Battle of the Academies,’ where tennis pros will take on the pickleball masters.”
Entry fees are $100 for players and $50 for guests.
