Red Sox launches online auction to fund scholarships
As part of its community outreach efforts, the Red Sox Foundation has created a two-week online auction to help fund scholarships for local high school students.
Over 30 items are available, ranging from experiences and autographed memorabilia, to travel packages. Some highlights include: throwing out a ceremonial first pitch at a 2020 game at Fenway Park, plus four tickets; 2020 U.S. Open Championship tickets with airfare; watching a 2020 Red Sox Spring Training game in a suite with Hall of Famer Tim Wakefield, plus more; Disney World and Universal Studio getaways; Country Music Association Festival Package; autographed memorabilia by David Ortiz, J.D. Martinez, Mookie Betts, Jason Varitek and Carl Yastrzemski; and more.

Each year the Lee County Red Sox Scholarship awards a $5,000 college scholarship to one deserving student from each of the 13 public high schools in Lee County. In the past seven years, the Red Sox Foundation has raised more than $323,000 for local nonprofits and scholarships.
