Club to host full moon paddle

By Staff | Oct 30, 2019

The Ocean Tribe Paddling Club hosts excursions for paddling enthusiasts to enjoy a group paddle, share tips and ideas, and meet new friends to paddle with.

The next one will be held on Nov. 12 from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

It will be a full moon paddle on the San Carlos Bay. Enjoy sunset views as the sun retreats behind Sanibel and the full moon creeps up over Fort Myers Beach. As the full moon illuminates the paddle, participants will enjoy the peacefulness of the bay and the company of fellow paddlers.

Those interested in taking part can bring their own paddling craft or reserve one of the limited number of loaner vessels in advance. To reserve a vessel, email oceantribepaddlers@sanibelseaschool.org.

The first event is free, then it is requested that a club membership be purchased.

Meet at 5:15 p.m. on the east side of Causeway Island B, facing the Sanibel Lighthouse.

Any weather related updates or schedule changes will be posted on the Ocean Tribe Outfitters Facebook page at least one hour prior to the event. The inclement weather location will be Bowman’s Beach.

Ocean Tribe Outfitters is a branch of Sanibel Sea School that helps the local paddling community better explore, enjoy, and understand the ocean. For more information, visit oceantribeoutfitters.org or follow on Facebook or Instagram.
