‘Ding’ Darling to launch e-commerce site
Fans of the “Ding” Darling Nature Store at the J.N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge on Sanibel will no longer have to wait until they visit the refuge to purchase some of the unique souvenirs and gifts the store has become known for.
On Nov. 4 at 9 a.m., ShopDingDarling.com goes live for purchasing nationwide.
“We are excited to extend the reach of our Nature Store to cyberspace. As a team, we have been working several years on realizing this goal,” Store Manager Ann-Marie Wildman said. “Thanks to the efforts of store assistants Chris Galloway and Carrie Harmon and photographer Scott McPhee, plus the support of all the DDWS staff.”
The “Ding” Darling Wildlife Society-Friends of the Refuge operates the Nature Store to support the refuge through the sale of logo apparel and memorabilia, children’s toys, eco-friendly kitchen accessories, art, birding guides and other nature books, fair-trade decorative pieces, and a variety of other gifts related to nature and conservation.
In phase I of the store’s e-commerce site rollout, it will carry a limited number of items. Gradually, staff will add more items, but in the meantime other in-store items not on the site still are still available by phone order at 239-472-1100 ext. 241.
Prior to the launch date, people can register their email address at ShopDingDarling.com to receive official notification once the site goes live.
