Lee Health announces calendar contest winners
Lee Health Arts in Healthcare program recently announced the winners of the annual Lee Health Art by the DisABLEd Calendar Contest for 2020.
Almost 50 works were entered and placed on public display in the atrium of HealthPark Medical Center. Five prizes were awarded by a panel of five community judges.
Top prize went to Carol Murphy, representing the Lighthouse of SWFL, for her piece entitled, “Sacred Elephants.” Her art will be featured on the cover of the 2020 Arts in Healthcare – Lee Health calendar and on permanent display on the Fifth Floor of The Rehabilitation Hospital at Lee Memorial Hospital.
Second place went to Rose McGahee for her piece, “Pretty in Pink.” Third place was awarded to local artist Mia McMillan for her work “Wisteria Garden.” A “People’s Choice” award went to Letty deGuzman, of the Lighthouse of SWFL, for her piece “Pathway to Peace.” An honorable mention award also went to Judy Radford, of Special Populations of Cape Coral, for her colorful “Flamingo Dreams.”
All works are for sale, with a portion going to the artist and a percentage also going to the Arts in Healthcare program within Lee Health. If you are interested in purchasing any of the artwork, contact Arts in Healthcare Program Coordinator Doug MacGregor at 239-343-2633.
