Celebrate Cayo Costa Day coming up
The Friends of Cayo Costa State Park will host the 6th annual Celebrate Cayo Costa Day on Nov. 2 from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on the island. Enjoy activities like shell crafts, beach combing, history walks and talks, palm frond weaving, swimming and presentations by local non-profits, including the Calusa Land Trust, Randell Research Center, Bailey-Matthews National Shell Museum and Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife. Little Lilly’s Island Deli will cater lunch while attendees hear updates about the Friends of Cayo Costa’s work at the park. Cost is $40 per person or $30 for children and Friends of Cayo Costa members. The proceeds will benefit the work of the Friends of Cayo Costa.
