United Way to host Family Service Learning Fair
United Way of Lee, Hendry, Glades, and Okeechobee’s Volunteer Center will host its first Family Service Learning Fair on Nov. 23 from 9 a.m. to noon at the main campus, at 7273 Concourse Drive, Fort Myers.
The event will highlight 14 diverse non-profit agencies that will offer a variety of hands-on projects for families to participate, including the Cancer Alliance of Naples, Children’s Home Society, Children’s Network, F.I.S.H. of Sanibel-Captiva, Girl Scouts, Goodwill Industries of Southwest Florida, Gulf Coast Humane Society, Harry Chapin Food Bank, Healthy Start, Human Trafficking Awareness Program, Quality Life Center, RCMA, Special Equestrians, The Salvation Army and Valerie’s House.
The goal is to introduce families to volunteer opportunities available to them and inspire local youth to become community-minded leaders and citizens.
