Shell Club to hold first meeting of season
The first meeting of the 2019-2020 season for the Sanibel-Captiva Shell Club will be held on Oct. 13 at 2 p.m. at The Community House, at 2173 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel; doors open at 1:45 p.m. Bailey-Matthews National Shell Museum Science Director and Curator Dr. Jose Leal will kick off the season with a presentation entitled “Highlights from the Digital Imaging Project.” To improve the ease of access to data from its large collection of shells and preserved mollusks, the museum is undertaking a large-scale photography project.
