The Sanibel Public Library is offering a variety of programs for adults and youth.

Open to ages 12 to 18, Teen Scene “Spheros & Snacks” will be offered on Oct. 21 from 6 to 7 p.m. Come hang out, socialize, play with the library’s Spheros mini robots, and eat.

RSVP by Oct. 14 by calling Deanna Evans at 239-472-2483.

The popular “Fill-A-Bag for A Dollar” book sale will start on Oct. 25.

The sale will continue until the inventory is depleted.

On Oct. 26, a Saturday Crafterday will be held at 11 a.m. It will entail seasonal craft-making for children in third grade through eighth grade. There is no registration required to participate.

The following weekly programs are available for youth:

– Family Storytime: Most Wednesdays at 11 a.m. and Thursdays at 11 a.m. with Youth Service Librarian Deanna Evans. For preschoolers and their caregivers, the program helps develop pre-reading skills through songs and stories.

– After-School Crew: Most Thursdays at 3 p.m. with Youth Service Librarian Deanna Evans. Kindergarten through fifth graders will get to meet some new books and enjoy puzzles, games, crafts and snacks.

For program dates, refer to the library’s online calendar at www.sanlib.org.

There is no registration required nor additional cost to participate.

Come play in the Think Tank on Fridays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The MagixBox projects interactive images from the ceiling to the floor. Squish mosquitoes, crush eggs or make a trail of stars. It teaches children to use modern technology and to cooperate with others.

Library cards are available to residents of Sanibel and Lee County at no charge.

Visitor library cards are available for a $10 annual fee.

The Sanibel Public Library is open Mondays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
