LCEC to provide shell museum, CROW with funding awards
LCEC announced that it will provide the Bailey-Matthews National Shell Museum with a $4,170 environmental funding award to help install the museum’s new “Impact Wall,” with a $2,600 award to go to the Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife to support its 2020 Conservation Speaker Series.
Located in the new aquarium, the Impact Wall will feature quotes, images and factual information about the ocean’s environment and highlight the importance of protecting the ocean and marine life.
For the series, speakers will educate participants with information on how to protect and benefit the world to create positive change. Sessions will be held weekly from January to April at CROW.
Interested organizations must meet certain criteria to be considered for an environmental funding award, including being located within LCEC service territory, funding utilized for projects/programs related to the environment and the utility industry, and having a demonstrated need for funds.
The deadlines for the 2020 award applications are March 15 and Sept. 1, 2020.
