Club to host afternoon paddling excursion
The Ocean Tribe Paddling Club hosts excursions for paddling enthusiasts to enjoy a group paddle, share tips and ideas, and meet new friends to paddle with.
The next one will be held on Oct. 3 from 4 to 5:30 p.m.
It will be an afternoon paddling excursion through Sanibel’s east end canals. Start from the Sanibel Boat Ramp and paddle across a short stretch of San Carlos Bay, where participants might spot dolphins or manatees on their way to the canal entrance. The paddle will take the group through an area that is often overlooked by paddlers, but is rich in local flora and fauna.
Those interested in taking part can bring their own paddling craft or reserve one of the limited number of loaner vessels in advance. To reserve a vessel, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
The first event is free, then it is requested that a club membership be purchased.
Meet at 3:45 p.m. at the Sanibel Boat Ramp, at 888 Sextant Drive, Sanibel.
Any weather related updates or schedule changes will be posted on the Ocean Tribe Outfitters Facebook page at least one hour prior to the event.
Ocean Tribe Outfitters is a branch of Sanibel Sea School that helps the local paddling community better explore, enjoy, and understand the ocean. For more information, visit oceantribeoutfitters.org or follow on Facebook or Instagram.
