SCCF Nature Center closed for renovations

By Staff | Sep 23, 2019

The Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation reported on Sept. 16 that due to ongoing interior renovations, the Nature Center will be closed for educational programs until further notice.

However, the administrative offices remain open at the address for meetings and other business activities. The trails behind the Nature Center will also stay open for visitors.

“We hope to unveil the refreshed Nature Center as soon as possible,” SCCF Facilities & Events Manager Jeff Siwicke said. “Until then, all of SCCF’s public trails will still be open to explore. While the renovations are underway, all SCCF events and educational programs will be held at the Bailey Homestead Preserve.”

Information on the open trails at SCCF’s preserves can be found www.sccf.org/preserves.

The SCCF Native Landscape & Garden Center will maintain its regular retail schedule within the Bailey Homestead Preserve, at 1300 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel. For additional information about the Garden Center’s operating hours and upcoming programs, call 239-472-1932.

The SCCF Nature Center is at 3333 Sanibel-Captiva Road, Sanibel.
