The Sanibel Public Library is offering a variety of programs for adults and youth.

At 10 a.m. Sept. 10, licensed insurance professional Anthony Idaspe, with the Informed Choice Insurance Agency, will present a program about Medicare choices. It is for educational purposes, no plan-specific details will be shared. Idaspe is not connected with the federal Medicare program.

Idaspe will repeat his program on Sept. 26 at 10 a.m.

Open to ages 12-18, Teen Scene Pizza and Nerf Targets will take place on Sept. 16 at 6 p.m. Come hang out, socialize, play games, create and eat. The monthly Teen Scenes require registration. Call the library at 239-472-2483 by Sept. 14 to RSVP; please notify the library of reservation cancellations.

The following weekly programs are available for youth:

– Family Storytime: Most Wednesdays at 11 a.m. and on Thursdays at 11 a.m. For preschoolers and their caregivers, the program helps develop pre-reading skills through songs and stories.

– After-School Crew: Most Thursdays at 3 p.m. Kindergarten through fifth graders will get to meet some new books and enjoy puzzles, games, crafts and snacks.

For program scheduling, refer to the library’s online calendar at www.sanlib.org.

There is no registration required nor additional cost to participate.

Come play in the Think Tank on Fridays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The MagixBox projects interactive images from the ceiling to the floor. Squish mosquitoes, crush eggs or make a trail of stars. It teaches children to use modern technology and to cooperate with others.

In addition to books, cooking kits and museum passes, the library also offers Mango – an online language learning tool. Downloadable magazines are available through the RB digital app. Cardholders can also use the on-demand video streaming service Kanopy. The newest service allows users to download or stream millions of songs with the Freegal music app.

Library cards are available to residents of Sanibel and Lee County at no charge.

Visitor library cards are available for a $10 annual fee.

The Sanibel Public Library is open Mondays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
