Fly tying workshop planned for youths
Fly tying expert Drew Chicone will host a workshop for children ages 8-13 on Sept. 10 from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Sanibel Sea School.
Students will learn the art of designing and crafting flies from natural materials to resemble prey species.
“Some of the supplies we’re planning to use are feathers and deer hair,” Sanibel Sea School Program Coordinator Shannon Stainken said. “It should be a fun opportunity to learn from one of the best teachers around.”
The session is part of a series of after-school programs.
The cost is $20 per student; scholarships are available upon request.
