Well-known baker joins scratch kitchen at The Jac
Visitors can now indulge in a sinfully delicious slice of cake at The Jac Sanibel Island Bar & Grille.
The scratch kitchen has added well-known baker Harriette Mattson, who for 37 years owned and operated the popular Harriette’s Restaurant in Key Largo. Her restaurant became a beloved destination for its one-of-a-kind, nearly eight-ounce muffins. Some of the most popular flavors included key lime and coconut, guava and cream cheese and chocolate coconut.
At The Jac, Mattson’s coconut cake has quickly become a fan favorite. Other delectable options are rum cake, chocolate ganache, strawberry cake, and her authentic key lime cake. Mattson is also tempting visitors with rice pudding, peach cobbler and a key lime tart with a graham cracker crust.
Each slice is just $8, or customers can pre-order a cake starting at $30.
With fall approaching, Mattson is getting ready with seasonal desserts. Visitors will be able to enjoy pumpkin spice bread with nuts; come December, it will be time for orange cranberry nut bread.
