Although summer vacation means fewer school groups coming to the J.N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge, the Education Team does not let up on its mission to reach out and teach youth about the importance of wildlife and conservation. The team hosts groups at the refuge and takes programs on the road, a precursor to the work it will do once the Wildlife on Wheels mobile unit comes together next year. For more information on the WoW initiative or to make a contribution, contact “Ding” Darling Wildlife Society-Friends of the Refuge Executive Director Birgie Miller at 239-472-1100 ext. 232, 239-292-0566 or “mailto:director@dingdarlingsociety.org”>director@dingdarlingsociety.org.
