The Calusa Waterkeeper will host “Public Health Alert – Florida Water Summit 2” on Aug. 5 from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at the Broadway Palm Dinner Theater, at 1380 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers.
The event is part of the non-profit organization’s campaign focused on the public health impacts of harmful algal blooms. It will feature the debut of the new documentary, “Troubled Waters,” followed by an extended question-and-answer session with an all-star panel of experts, plus a buffet dinner.
Created by the Calusa Waterkeeper, the original short film will feature expert scientists and doctors as they explore the human health impacts of cyanotoxins and BMAA in South Florida.
The panel of experts will include Dr. Walter Bradley, Dr. Larry Brand, Dr. David Davis, Dr. James Metcalf, Dr. Malcolm McFarland, Adam Schaefer, John Cassani, Dr. Arthur Diskin, Dr. Robert Zarranz, registered nurse Holley Ruane and more.
Tickets are $20 or $18 for Calusa Waterkeeper members and include dinner.
