Ocean Tribe Paddlers to explore canals of Sanibel

By Staff | Jun 28, 2019

Ocean Tribe Paddlers, which is affiliated with the Sanibel Sea School, hosts excursions for paddling enthusiasts to enjoy a group paddle, share tips and ideas, and meet new friends to paddle with.

The next one will be held on July 10 from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m.

Paddlers will take part in an excursion through the winding canals of the east end of Sanibel, which are rich in local flora and fauna. Start out from the Sanibel Boat Ramp and paddle across a short stretch of the San Carlos Bay to canal entrance.

Those interested in taking part can bring their own paddling craft or borrow one from Ocean Tribe Paddlers. To reserve a loaner, email oceantribepaddlers@sanibelseaschool.org in advance.

The first event is free, then it is requested that a club membership be purchased.

Meet at 8:15 a.m. at the Sanibel Boat Ramp, at 888 Sextant Drive, Sanibel.

Be sure to visit the Ocean Tribe Outfitters Facebook page for any weather-related updates; schedule changes will be posted at least one hour prior to the event.
