Melody Lane Performing Arts Center to present pilot production of ‘Finding Nemo JR’
Melody Lane Performing Arts Center will present a pilot production of Disney’s “Finding Nemo JR” the musical this weekend. Students in 4th-9th grade will present this never before seen children’s musical adaptation of the tale of Nemo, the lost little fish, and his dedicated father, Marlin, and the zany Dory, as well as many other lovable sea creatures. Hear new music from the composers of “Frozen,” Bobby and Kristen Lopez. The Cape studio has been chosen by Disney to pilot an unreleased show and to be one of the first programs in the world to perform this new title!
Tickets are $10, lap children free, and can be purchased in advance at Melody Lane PAC, 75 Mid Cape Terrace, #1, between 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Friday, or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org, or calling Nanci at 239-839-0811.
Shows are today, June 28, at 6:30 p.m.; Saturday, June 29, at 3 and 6:30 p.m.; and Sunday, June 30, at 4 p.m. at Island Coast High School in Cape Coral.
The Melody Lane Theatre Department was established in 2017 and has produced 7 major musicals, including another Disney pilot, “Frozen JR.” Students earned “Outstanding Production” of “Lion King” at the Junior Theater Festival in January 2019, a top honor only 9 out of 133 groups earned, and the only in their age category to win this award. In June 2019, Gulfshore Life awarded Melody Lane Performing Arts Center as Lee County’s “Performing Arts Group” of the year! The theatre department is lead by drama director Dana Alvarez and choreographer and studio co-owner Sami Doherty.
