Kristian Bush, half of the multi-platinum selling country duo Sugarland, will perform with the Gulf Coast Symphony as part of the sixth annual Island Hopper Songwriter Fest.

Set for Sept. 20-29, the Island Hopper Songwriter Fest takes place over 10 days and offers a range of free performances. The event kicks off on Captiva on Sept. 20-22, moves to downtown Fort Myers from Sept. 22-26 and ends at Fort Myers Beach on Sept. 27-29.

Bush, a Grammy-winning singer-songwriter, and the symphony, celebrating its 25th anniversary, will perform on stage on Sept. 22 at Florida Repertory Theatre in downtown Fort Myers.

“We’re excited to showcase our community’s outstanding Gulf Coast Symphony with the star power and talent of Kristian Bush,” Tamara Pigott, executive director of the Lee County Visitor & Convention Bureau, said. “This addition to this year’s Island Hopper lineup can only be described as a once-in-a-lifetime performance, not to be missed.”

The release of ticket prices for the show, along with other festival details, will be available June 15 on the new version of the Island Hopper mobile app.

Sam Williams, the 21-year-old grandson of legendary Hank Williams, and Sawyer Fredericks, the season 8 winner of NBC’s “The Voice,” will both perform on Captiva for the festival.
