Island Rotarian receives district award
Sanibel-Captiva Rotary Club member Scot Congress recently received the Rotary District 6960 Vocational Service Award for 2019. According to the club, his contributions are many and varied, and through his business he has routinely and repeatedly made financial donations to charities throughout the region. Congress’ involvement in multiple island and professional organizations speaks to his leadership and reputation within the community. Joining the club in 1985, he has served as president for three terms. Congress served as treasurer of the Trust Fund Board for years, helping with new innovations such as investment strategies for the Endowment Fund. As committee chairman for years of the annual Arts and Crafts Festival, he has demonstrated innovation and problem-solving skills, plus supports new initiatives and joins in with gusto. Congress also exemplifies Rotary’s Four-Way Test.
