Paddling Tip of the Week

By Staff | Jun 4, 2019

To reduce the likelihood of sun damage, premature aging and skin cancer, paddlers should wear clothing that covers areas prone to sunburn. Body parts such as the back, scalp, neck and ears require extra protection – sunscreen alone is not always enough. Choose clothing with a UPF rating of 50 or more, or natural fibers in dark colors with a tight weave. Hats and sunglasses are also essential. The weekly paddling tip is provided by the Ocean Tribe Paddlers, which is affiliated with the Sanibel Sea School. For more information, visit oceantribepaddlers.org.
