Chef’s menu, pairings revealed for wine dinner fundraiser
Tickets are running out for the Antinori Wine Dinner, an event to raise funds for The Community House, a gathering place for island activities operated by the Sanibel Community Association.
Hosted by Bailey’s General Store and the Sanibel Catering Company, the multi-course dinner and wine pairing will be held on June 8 at 6 p.m. at The Community House, at 2173 Periwinkle Way. Up to 40 guests will enjoy a dinner and wine seminar featuring six wine pairings with Drew Connor, state manager for Antinori, along with locally sourced cuisine created by Chef Karl, of the Sanibel Catering Company.
The event will begin with assorted passed amuse-bouche paired with a 2017 Prosecco di Valdobbiadene. Next will be a 2018 Guado al Tasso Vermentino paired with pan seared grouper with Tuscan white beans and tomato jus. Third course will be a 2017 Castello della Sala Bramito paired with smoked confit of duck ragu parrapardelle, then a 2017 Guado al Tasso Scalabrone will be paired with a summer ratatouille. Next, a 2016 Pppoli Chianti Classico will be paired with stuffed veal breast Napoli. The grand finale, Antinori’s 2016 Guado al Tasso Bruciato Super Tuscan, will be paired with grilled prime rib of beef and asparagus. Various dessert selections will be served after dinner.
Tickets are $100 per person or $550 for a table of six
