Lee Health launches Lee TeleHealth for virtual patient care

By Staff | May 29, 2019

Lee County patients will no longer need to leave home when suffering from a minor injury or sickness. Lee Health recently launched “Lee TeleHealth,” a 24/7 virtual care service allowing a visit with a board-certified physician and advanced provider for treatment of a variety of health concerns.

The service, costing $49 per visit, is available on demand via computer, smartphone or tablet. During the virtual visit, patients have the ability to interact with the doctor via their device’s camera to receive a diagnosis and, if necessary, a referral or prescription.

“Lee TeleHealth is a game changer for patients, especially those with hectic lives who might otherwise struggle to find time to make it to the doctor’s office. When it comes to minor sicknesses and injuries, Lee TeleHealth offers the luxury of no more waiting rooms, no more sitting in traffic during season and the option to see a doctor at a time that is convenient for you,” Lee Physician Group Chief Administrative Officer Kris Fay said. “Telemedicine is transforming the way health care providers interact with patients, and we look forward to continue embracing new technology to provide the best possible care.”

Lee TeleHealth provides an alternative for busy parents and professionals. If a more thorough examination is required, the physician will refer the patient to a Lee Convenient Care or Lee Physician Group doctor.

Patients using the telehealth service can seek treatment and receive a prescription for a variety of conditions, including:

– Cold and flu

– Sinus infections

– Rashes

– Pink eye

– Headaches

– Urinary tract infections

– Allergies

– Cough

– Sprains and strains

Every visit is encrypted to protect private information, and patients can expect the same level of care they would receive in a traditional doctor’s office. For current Lee Health patients, telehealth visits are added to their health record to ensure continuity of care.

To download the app, visit the app store on a smartphone or tablet and search for “Lee TeleHealth.”

To access a virtual visit from a computer, visit: leetelehealth.org. After signing up, the patient’s information will be preloaded for every virtual visit.

Lee TeleHealth does not accept insurance at this time.
