Ocean Tribe Paddlers to explore Bowman’s mangroves

By Staff | May 23, 2019

Ocean Tribe Paddlers, which is affiliated with the Sanibel Sea School, hosts excursions for paddling enthusiasts to enjoy a group paddle, share tips and ideas, and meet new friends to paddle with.

The next one will be held on June 1 from 9 to 11 a.m.

Paddlers will explore the Bowman’s Beach mangrove canals. The tranquil waters are home to an abundance of wildlife including manatees, wading birds, ospreys and jumping mullet.

It is an excellent paddling opportunity for beginners.

Those interested in taking part can bring their own paddling craft or borrow one from Ocean Tribe Paddlers. To reserve a loaner, email oceantribepaddlers@sanibelseaschool.org in advance.

Meet at 8:45 a.m. at 1700 Bowmans Beach Road, Sanibel.

Be sure to visit the Ocean Tribe Paddlers Facebook page for any weather-related updates; schedule changes will be posted at least one hour prior to the event.
